Ah, the old ringlight effect.
You probably didn't need the vignette.
Thanks for sharing this well captured eye.

Careful with that light, may damage someone's eyesight.

I made sure to take long breaks between shots and alternated eyes as I repeated the shot, especially when the P-TTL cut out on the K-5, causing the ringlight to fire at full power.

Eventually I switched over to X-sync, set the flash manually to 1/16 power and worked from there. This was much easier on the eyes, as I didn't have to worry about P-TTL cutting out or fighting the urge to blink from the pre-flash.

I sorta like the vignette, as it make it look even creepier, like I'm looking through a peephole or something. Not sure whether I prefer the version with the catchlight or not, but thanks for putting it up.
