Autumn Jewel
Posted By: little laker, 10-06-2007, 07:27 PM

I've posted pictures of Jewel Lake, British Columbia many times, but I don't think that I've ever captured the beauty quite as nicely as I did today

Here's a pano as well, same time, same location

I'd really like to thank everyone here, and not just for their nice comments.
But also for teaching me something new every time that I log in and see everyones work.

I can't speak for others here, but I try learning something from every picture that I see on this board, and all the comments that I read about them.

Even a bad photo can be used to teach us something

But I've seen your work, and you don't need it

I image the weather is changing there as well.
That it is. With a little luck I'll be heading into Waterton in a week, and then into Canmore 2 days later.... Calgary in between.
Are you in the area then? If so I'd love the chance to meet you

Stu, I was thinking this would be one of those spots that if you carefully marked a place to set up the tripod you could take a shot in each season. Note the time of day, lens focal length etc and have a winter, spring and summer shot all in one frame added to this great shot. Might be cool.
Good idea Peter, and consider it as done
I took the pic's from on top of a point, so it's easy to remember where I took it from

I'll post them when I get them

Why am I stuck at work ... when I could be travelling Canada going to all of these nice places.
Looking at those ... I could picture myself in a deck chair with a drink in my hand ... taking in the beauty.
Your more than welcome to come up for a visit. I'll show you around my stomping grounds.

I'm probably more easy going in person than I am on-line (must be a British Columbia thing)
2 minutes after I snapped the pic's I was in the restaurant, drinking a beer

Oooh, gorgeous! Is the colour as captured, or have you done a lot in PP?

Thanks Mandi,

it's as captured

There was possibly a 5 minute window of opportunity for that pic, so I was just in the right place at the right time.
Then the clouds blew in, although it was still nice. I got a picture of that as well.
