A Lonely Place . . . .
Lens: DA Limiteds Camera: K20D Photo Location: Quintana Beach, TX ISO: 100

. . . . . . in the winter.

This afternoon, I took a short drive down to Quintana Beach - a great sunny day and I was in a B&W frame-of-mind. The place is - of course - essentially deserted (other than some maintenance folks) and put me in a somber mood. Here are four shots I took.

A picnic table longin for summer (which starts about the first of April around here):

A fine set of photos, Jer. I'd love to be there when the place is "empty."

Let's just say that with a predicted temp of -15F tonight (windchill of -30F), I don't think I'll REALLY be thinking of the beach until the ice goes out up here - so maybe May. (Although I'm heading up to our cabin in about a week - where it's been colder than here - so it should make for some interesting ice shots down at the beach I'm hoping!)
Maybe that's part of the appeal of Jer's beach scene?

Hey thanks, Dave. I feel the same way about winter, but I'll have to come clean: it was a little over 60F when I took these pics yesterday .

Yeah - it ain't cold here, but still too chilly for me to jump in. Folks (with wet suits) generally surf year 'round, however.

BBBBBrrrrrrr - as I mentioned earlier, it was a bit above 60 when I pushed the shutter button. It's gonna get cold tonight, however - and our predicted high for tomorrow is only 54F (guess I'll have to get out my long underwear).
