Autumn is here
Posted By: tcom, 10-07-2007, 11:15 PM

Hi

Yesterday I wanted to capture some autumn colors, unfortunately the fog is also coming back. I went on a mountain, hoping being above the fog, but I was right in the middle of the fog. I tried my best to make some moody shots in the fog.

These are so eerie and almost 'ghostly' ...you can almost "see" the quiet. #2 is my favorite!

I like number 5. The wooden hut acts as an anchor to the photo, and also shows scale.

It was so foggy yesterday that I converted all my photos to black and white. You should try that with a few of yours to see what results you get.

I like #5 as well...with the spooky little shack in the fog and the clear foreground shows nice depth...just lovely!

I like all of the fog photos. I'd say it was the best of luck that the fog did come in. Very well done!!

Thank you for all your replies.

At first, I was not so happy with such a fog, but I tried my best and I quite happy with the results, but there is still room to improve.

I liike 2 and 5. I get a lot of morning fog near my home. Your shots give me some ideas for some future work. Thanks for posting.

Nice work Dominique. Yes #2 is nice but I think #6 has a real nice feel to it.

I liked them all. I liked the more foggy ones best. #1 and #4 seemed very moody to me. Nice.

They are all quite nice. I agree with trying them in B&W; try toning them after you have done the conversion.
Today it was in the upper 80's here (metro NY area); my car read 100 after being parked in the sun for several hours. No color in the trees. My fear is that we will go right to Winter.

My vote

My vote goe to #2...

The brightness of the bushes really accents and makes the fog in the background almost mysterious looking..

Great pic..!!!!

I love both the second and last pictures.

It's tough photographing in fog. I usually junk 90% of my pic's when I try it
