No Pat, he was out in the forest where I shoot. I almost missed him. I have been told there are many in this area but first one for me. JIM

This looks like one of the Northern Saw-whet Owls hanging out at the Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary near Ladner, BC. They are such heavy sleepers that it is easy to get good shots like this.

Nice capture Jimbo. The only time that I ever saw an owl on my property was the day after my father-in-law passed away. The owl stayed in the tree for several hours and then disappeared. They say that owls have something to do with departed spirits.--Gives one pause to think.-----charliezap

That second shot is my favorite Jim. These are such hard animals to capture and you did a fine job.

Interesting story Charlie. Sorry to hear about your dad and I too have read something about wild animals stay around once someone has passed away on a farm. JIM

He just sat there and didn't seem to worry about me all at. I think they are used to people in this area. visitor

I will be going back here one day with a differnet set up. JIM
