A Towhee and a Bufflehead
Lens: DA*300 F4 and Pentax AF 1.7 Camera: k-5 Photo Location: So.Cal
Posted By: Harish Hegde, 01-23-2011, 07:31 PM

I had to try this combo today as it was a bright sunny day. It seems that Pentax underexposes a bit with DA than with FA and it worked fine for me as the white on Bufflehead would show. My Nikon D700 would have blown the whites...

Beautiful photos, lovely birds. The Towhee calling is great, and the reflections from the BuffleHead are gorgeou,s adding even more beauty to the photo.

I didn't realize the bufflehead had so many colors. Love the second towhee shot.

The second towhee is great. Also nice capture on the iridescent colors around the bufflehead's face - sunlight angle must be just right.

The towhee with his beak open is super, but I like them all, really. Very nice colors. Well done.
