My first post, hope it works.

IstDS, 200mm SMC Takumar f4, at f6.3, 1/180 sec. shot in RAW. Desaturated and cropped a bit, otherwise ACR defaults.

I like this shot.
The B&W treatment works here.
What would have been a little better, IMO, was a greater DOF to accomodate the front feathers.
I know it is a Hornbill but for the life of me that looks like a broken off piece of peeled banana on his upper bill.

Yes, DOF very limited with that focal length, I did not have a tripod with me, and was reluctant to stop down further and hand-hold at a slower shutter speed; probably should have boosted the ISO. I am looking forward to getting a K10D with antishake.

I don't much care for the way this lens renders bright out of focus areas, but in this case it may have worked out to the image's advantage.

I don't think the bill was actually broken as there were various friends or relations of this bird around that looked the same.
