Joint Base Lewis-McChord Air Expo 2010
Lens: Various Camera: Various Photo Location: McChord AFB
Posted By: kcmadr, 01-30-2011, 09:24 PM

I have posted these in the Avation Social Group in the Discussion area, but wanted to share them with a wider audience.

These images are in my McChord AFB 2010 profile album.

Hope you enjoy.

Boeing MH-47G Special Operations Chinook.
Used by the US Army's 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment.

This is one mean, mean 'copter.

Boeing Stearman. A lovely example of the inter war years trainer! Such a lovely yellow too.

Lockheed F-22A Raptor. It's a real shame it didn't fly, but that's ok. Seeing it up close was a real treat!!!

Nasa F-18 Hornet. It didn't fly, but that's ok because they had an F-18F Super Hornet that did fly!!!

Mig17. One of three MiGs at the show. This one didn't fly though.

North American P-51C Mustang painted in the colours of the Tuskegee Airmen. It belongs to the Commemorative Air Force.

Aerospatiale MH-65C Dolphin (SA-366G-1) of the US Coast Guard.

Canadian Forces Sikorsky CH-124 Sea King.

Sikorsky SH-60 Seahawk of the US Navy.

Boeing CH-47 Chinook of the US Army.

US Air Force TC-135W Rivet Joint. This plane was converted from its previous designation as a Boeing VC-135B Stratolifter.

McDonnell Douglas KC-10 Extender. In flight refuelling station.

Lockheed C-5 Galaxy. I would so love to have seen this monster fly!!! It's HUGE!!!

Boeing E3-B Sentry. The static display had the radome rotating, so I took a longer exposure to show the movement!

Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit. Based out of Missouri, it flew past and returned to home base after flying past another show as well. This one is "Spirit of Hawaii".

Grumman F8F-2 Bearcat. One of the finest I've ever seen.

North American FJ-4B Fury. The last flying example of any of the FJ-4's.

Canadair F-86E Mk.6 Sabre. Beautiful airworthy example.

McDonnell Douglas QF-4E Phantom II based out of Holloman AFB. Full Scale Aerial Target (FSAT) drone.

The three C-17 Globemaster III's dropped these paratroopers during their flypast. It was cool to see, actually.

Bell AH-1S Huey Cobra attack helicopter during its demonstration.

Two of the C-17 Globemaster III's after landing.

Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II. You don't realize just how big this plane is until you get a scale reference of a person next to or inside it. It's quite large!

The Grumman F8F-2 Bearcat taking off for its demonstration. What a great plane with that mighty radial!

PZL WSK-Mielec Lim-5 (license built MiG-17F) peeling away from a SBLim-2 (MiG-15UTI) during the MiG Fury demonstration.

The PZL WSK-Mielec Lim-5 (license built MiG-17F) and SBLim-2 (MiG-15UTI) in formation with the North American FJ-4B Fury.

So many good shots - almost blows my mind. The in flight shots are perhaps the best of their kind I've seen. Very well done.
