just a few shots from around Tokyo. most were taken in Av. my first attempts at night shots really. i think i learned about bit more about my camera on this trip. not totally satisfied with the results but i learned. also pretty bummed. i thought i might get a good deal on some pentax (japanese lenses) in japan but they are much cheaper in the USA.

I think these images depict the busy city quite well.
#1 despite being so chaotic is a great representation of the metropolis.
#2 is also a fine travel shot - apart from the barrel distortion, it's a good result to show.

You commented that the "lenses are cheaper in the US". Mind you, I don't know the JPY/USD exchange rate.
If you don't mind me asking, where did you check the prices in Tokyo? Yodobashi Camera?

If you have time, check out Fujiya Camera in Nakano.
They sell new and used gear.
The used lenses are in excellent condition, some like new and you can find plenty of good deals.
A DA40 can be found for around 22,000 yen.
DA35ltd for around 31,000.

I was only visiting tokyo for 4 days. so i dont remember what prices i saw. but yodobashi is not very cheap.
