Come with us Part 21

North Cascades NP. This is the only NP that I remember being laced with irritating telephone poles.

The smoke you see between the mountains is the result of a forest fire.

Another great series. Was that a forest fire on the last shot or controlled burning? JIM

Thanks guys. Jim, I think it was an uncontrolled fire. We couldn't get close to it.

Not sure you can stay in the Park Bob. We stayed at a nearby county campground that turned out to be a jewel.

Lovely shots, Susan. There's at least one campground in the park, Thunder Arm on Diablo Lake (west side of the pass). We camped there a few times back when I was a kid and the park was brand-new (in fact, we were there the weekend they opened hte North Cascades Highway ). Interesting factoid - both Diablo and Ross Lakes are private, in the sense that the dams creating them belong to Seattle City Light

Thanks for the information Jim. That whole area is a little different from most NP's but it is beautiful.

Beautiful shots, I like the composition of the first shot, and that water is a lovely colour.

Thank you Will. You have to love those mountain lakes. The blue/greens are something else.
