Alison-Young lady "illustrated"
Lens: Pentax 18-250 Camera: K20d Photo Location: Wilmington Ma. ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/125s Aperture: F6.7

Just a follow up on my "funky kitchen" thread with "illustration mode".This is the first time that I used this mode on "people" It's only another example of what you can do in camera with the K20d. This picture was still on the card in the camera and I let the camera do its thing to generate this particular image. It's like playing the slot machines.--You "hit the button" and see what happens.Yeah I know that PP can give you those many desired effects but it's neat to see what the filters and camera can do when you are no where near a computer with your editing software at the moment----Have fun playing around.I like gadgets and I enjoy looking in the "catacombs" of the features that my camera has to offer that may otherwise go unnoticed. I used my Vivitar flash on this photo but bounced it off the ceiling to make the image more uniform with the lighting.---charliezap

Oh my goodness, she is so sweet, and you made her into a doll!

The first photo is outstanding... and I understand the curiosity to play with the camera's gadgets.

So... is this your little girl? You must be proud!!

Thanks for posting!

Thanks everyone for the comments.I was at my niece's son's
2 yr old birthday party and "Alison" was in attendance. She had that look that just conveyed the thought that there is a decent shot of childhood innocence that could be captured. At first I didn't know if I liked the 2nd version but the more I looked at it I felt a bit more comfortable with the "look" that it presented.50
yrs from now it will be "Zap" collectable and will garner me big bucks--charliezap

There are a lot of bells and whistles on these camera, but I normally don't play with them. They will have to change the song to "Sweet Allison Blue Eyes", thanks for the view. Bob

Hi Bob--Sometimes the directions that come with "toys" can be intimidating and at times just activating the many options on your own and seeing what happens can lead to some surprises.--charliezap

FYI--The parents of the little girl got back to me and they liked the 2nd photo because it seems to go better with the style of their home.--charliezap

That is one cute little girl you've captured there Mr. Zap! Soooo, I had to find some images still on my card so I could revisit this. Here's a photo in some horrible lighting conditions. Following are my results (hope you don't mind)
