These were taken earlier today. I used the K10D and Tamron 70-300mm lens.

Great pictures, but I have to ask - why TWO red lights in No 2? "Stop, Stop?" Where does the amber fit in? Or is it the green that's missing?

It’s a Maritime stop light at the local locks. I gather it’s a little different for ships then it would be for cars.

Yeah, I guess it would be. And I thought it was some weird Canadian road rule. :-)

Tell me - I've often wondered, do Canadians drive on the right like the United States or on left like the rest of the ex-Commonwealth countries, in which case, how do you manage to swap over at the border?

We drive on the right just like the United States. Not sure how driving on the left would feel. I would imagine it would be a novel experience.

I'm sure changing over would be horrifying. People I know (used to driving on the left) who have driven in Europe say it's all fine until something goes wrong and your gut reaction takes over - and you do exactly the wrong thing in the emergency. Also apparently coping with roundabouts is horrific because you can't get used to turning the "wrong" way. I've travelled extensively in Europe and Asia, but never driven anywhere except here, South Africa and UK - all left-hand drive. I figure even the Ankara cab-drivers (who have to be experienced to be believed!) would be safer than me in a right-hand-drive city!!!

Nice pics!

I'm surprised your maples are still green though! They are "brown and on the ground" here

I love the architectural details above the traffic light.
