Portrait of my girlfriend
Posted By: G-Diesel, 02-14-2011, 06:53 AM

This was part of some test shots I took of my girlfriend with my brand new D-FA 100mm Macro WR and I'd say this is by far the sharpest and most wonderful lens I've ever touched. (I only shoot DSLRs since last year though, lol).

Thank you so much guys! Any advice on the best (around) 50mm prime for Pentax (regardless of cost)?

Take your pick between these 2: FA 43mm f1.9 limited and the DA*55 f1.4. Both are better than the FA50. Although the "A 50 f1.2" is an option second hand but it's manual focus.

Thanks. I've been reading about the DA55 and I've got the idea that while some love it, other people say it's way too soft. Any idea on how it performs around f1.8?

if you're ok with manual focus, both the carl zeiss 50/1.4 and voigtlander 58/1.4 are excellent.

Thank you. And thanks to twitch and jeffshaddix for the advice. I'm OK with manual, I might give those a serious look. Cheers!

Thanks a lot! Well, I'm glad to say that this pic was accepted into PPG. That is a major achievement for me since I've only been shooting DSLRs for about one year.
