Saturday night I got a chance to see some of my favorite musicians play at a local bar, The Eldo in Crested Butte. These guys are all world class musicians and play or have played in a lot of other projects (Les Claypool/Primus, Roger Waters, Edie Brickell, Critters Buggin, Garage Au Trois, Crack Sabbath, Tuatara, etc). This is their own project, The Dead Kenny G's which they claim is the opposite of everything that is wrong with music. Although they are seriously good, they do not take themselves too seriously and come out in Kenny G wigs and white shirts splattered in blood. The music is a mic of jazz, punk, and metal taking hard turns where you might least expect it. In my opinion, it's brilliant! (although my parents would disagree )

If you have adventurous taste in music, I highly recommend checking these guys out if they come to your area.

i haven't seen them play up here in Toronto but i'd go based on the name alone
i can see them fitting in well at NXNE in June
