Mighty Mississippi Headwaters
Photo Location: Minnesota

Photos are from Lake Itasca, MN. where you can actually walk across the mighty river. I have included the placard which gives the history of the adventure.

great info and to think that lake there starts such a large river.

Thanks Bob,been awhile since I was there.Heard it descibed as the 'Father of our waters' once.

Jer, my wife read about the headwaters and adventures to it while we were in Louisiana, so we mapped out a trip to MN to follow as much of the river as possible. We saw a lot of beautiful and interesting areas between. You see this massive river draining into the ocean and we would go into areas that were in drought for years. thanks Bob
