Because the fall color hasn't been that spectacular this year, I've been doing lots of IR still...

here are a few, C&C always welcome.

Great pictures, khardur - thanks for posting. I love #1 and #3 especially.

I am starting out with IR, as are a couple of other posters, and would be very grateful if you'd share EXIF and PP details... Sometimes I think I'll never get anything worthwhile (and then I remember that I left anti-shake on last time...!)

Hey Khardur, i love your pictures. i want to try IR pretty soon but i dont know what type of IR filter i should buy. What are you using? and on which lens? thanks. The second picture is my favorite but the first pic looks eerie like some haunted forest, thats awesome.

Original Poster
Thx Dave, Scott & Frank.

Mandi & Gator: Filter on all: Hoya R72 52mm filter. Lens for all: DA 18-55 "kit" lens.
1st shot, 33 mm, 30 sec @ f11. manual white balance set on some grass a few days earlier.
some extreme levels adjusted to make it so high contrast.

2nd shot: 10 sec, f/16. manual WB.
First two shots some adjustments to levels in ACR and convert to black and white using Cybia's B&WPlus filter. (they've got a bunch of freeware filter, as well as some you pay for: Cybia - Digital Resource Studio)

3rd shot: 6 sec, f/11, DA 18-55 lens w/ Hoya filter. manual WB, also WB adjusted while importing into Photoshop via ACR 4.x, and some level adjustment too - that's really it, at most I work on the images for a minute or two in PP before I save, I'm a minimalist.
