Some of the smaller locals
Camera: K20D Photo Location: Costa Rica

For being a tropical envrionment , I did not see a lot of bugs , insects. I suspect on the coast the days were too hot and in the rain forest there are ohhh soo many places to hide (and I was just bewildered by the vegetation) I missed them.

Here are a couple I did capture

lordy be what the heck is the moth with the pinchers. I dont think I could sleep after seeing him. great colors on the green guy and that is one heck of large spider

Thanks Bob nope - and if they did they would have died on the way home from the aiport in our sub zero climate

Thanks Scott - fewer bugs than I would thought as mentioned however unique ones when I did see them.

I don't think there has ever been a spider that I thought looked good. But you did a good job capturing this one.

Looks to be maybe a choeradodis species. I've personally owned and kept rhombodera sp. with much smaller shields but still neat mantids. This though.....!!

2 nd shot, any identification to the insect. Seems like a rare species.

The 3rd shot is a shield mantis but has the body of a cobra. Named cobra mantis

Nice shot, Dave.
