First images from a new lens

Some simple flower and leaf stuff here, just testing out the new glass (a Quantaray 100-300mm AF). The light was a bit strange today, but a few shots came through. :]

C&C always welcome!

1/250sec, f11, 300mm

1/250sec, f6.7, 133mm

1/250sec, f9.5, 300mm

This one was actually taken with my SMC-M 135mm f3.5, as I found out when I was checking the exif data. Oops! 1/125sec, f/5.6.

I really like shot #3. It is very sharp. Good stuff.

I really wish that branch hadn't swallowed up the tip of the leaf in the first one, but oh well. Win some, lose some.

#3 is my favorite... #1 would have been but that darned branch got in the way and is all distracting... all in all, good pictures.

#2 has too much depth of field. The background is distracting. The flower is nice and sharp.

Very impressive at 300mm, sure beats the hell outta my sigma 70-300 in both sharpness and contrast. the fat that the last image was a different lens makes it more impressive because that was actually my least favorite one in terms of iq. I would say this is a great buy

You mean you'd prefer if it was more blurred?

Good series. #1 would have been my favourite if not for the branch. 3 is a close second. Very nice stuff and seems like an impressive lens.
