Sunda Woodpecker

Think it's one of the smallest woodpecker.
300mm a bit tough for this small little bird.

K-x, 300mm, F4.0, 1/320s, iso 400

You managed to capture his beak digging into the wood. Nice.

Nice catch there! He is working away!
Sad story, I had a little Woody almost identical to yours park on a feeder in front of my office window last week. After a while I noticed he was still there, apparently unmoved, so I went out on the deck and checked. He turned his little head a little but it was quivering. I left him alone and after dark I checked and he had fallen to the ground dead. I have no idea what happened, but it made me sad for two days.....still does really.
