bw works well. nice looking crab. question is how much does his color set him off from the sand in the color shot.

I like it, Tim, but referencing Scott - I had to study the pic a microsecond to separate the crab from the sand. Perhaps that makes the pic more interesting??

It does stand out a little more in color, I liked how the b&w brought out the grainy feel of the sand.

Here is the color for comparison.

Hey, Tim - this character certainly matches his background, so I see why you chose to do a B&W conversion, which is a good one. This morning, when I looked at the B&W, the crab seemed less camouflaged than before. Anyway, I much prefer the B&W.

BW is the best choice here. I agree with you the bw brings out the detail in the sand.
