Here are a couple of profiles on a Great Blue Heron that I saw while at a state park on the Potomac River in Virginia.

The first one looks like he is sitting on the rocks. LOL. Nice sharp shots.

Thanks guys, this one was really cooperative, unfortunately I was shooting completely manually so when he took off I wasn't ready and got nothing of him flying.

I like me a good heron pic, just like these.
If you have good position, you can usually bang out a few shots before it takes off.
I'm still looking for that take-off pic, or in-flight pic.
Never quite got it...yet.
