Wow. I know that taking a 'simple' shot like that isn't so simple. Great job; the colours, the reflection, the composition, the meniscus...

What a BEAUTY!!!!, very nice capture, as if I can touch the leaf itself. A very simple subject yet so attractive. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

That may just be a perfect photo. I don't know how it could be made any better.

Yes Tom, throw me in the boat with all the others. Probably one of the best shots I've seen this year in a still life. As the shot opened in my browser, (slowly) I thought it was going to be of the sky not water. So absolutely sharp and clear. The leaf just popped off the screen when the picture was complete. The shadow detail, partly submerged stem and the little bit of water over the front edge make this shot Superb ***** (rating).

Tom, this IS a gem. Like Peter, I thought it was the sky but, well come to think of it, it IS the sky - but only a reflection of it.
Well done man.

Yikes!

I'm shocked!

This is such a simple shot that I was hesitant to post it. There was something about it I really liked, but thought it was just the experience of being in a beautiful, peaceful place and witnessing the leaf drifting by. I didn't think others could appreciate that.

Thanks for all the positive comments.

And, thanks to G M - I now know what meniscus is - I looked it up.

I'd much rather see an autumn photo like this, than your typical "bunch of trees turning color" shot. Beautifully done!

Very nice, Tom. I tried a shot like that last weekend, but for some reason there was no reflection. I guedd the sun was at the wrong angle.

This picture is a stunner, Tom. I'd say you've got the "eye".

I haven't been on the forum a great deal, lately - this shot reminds me of what I've been missing.
