Reddish Egret fishing
Lens: DA*300 F4 and Pentax AF 1.7 Camera: k-5 Photo Location: so.Cal

More with DA*300 and F1.7 extender.
Because of difficult light had to sharpen the images quite a bit. The subject was about 50-70 feet away..

I like the first one best.
Seems quite sharp and I like the angle.

When you write about the "light", does that mean it was overcast? Or late/early?

It was overcast in the morning and by the time sky cleared, the egret was gone.

Reddish Egrets are not native to So. Cal, I believe. They are common in east coast. These were a couple of wayward birds that never returned and made Bolsa Chica their home..

They are fun to watch with their seemingly mad behavior while fishing..

first shot is best of bunch. never seen the red colors on the egret so lucky you to catch one

You wouldn't, unless they are reddish egrets.
Hence the Name" Reddish Egret"
