One Birdie
Lens: Bigma 50-500 Camera: K20D Photo Location: Texas ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/45s Aperture: F6.7

I have lots of these little female Cardinals around here. This one was perched a long time in the same spot, so I shot her.

Not the best IQ but considering it was shot through double-pane glass, wide open at 6.7 with the Bigma, ISO 800, and hand-held at 1/50, it isn't that bad!

I think the females are more beautiful than the males......just my thoughts.
Best Regards!

Did well Rupert - obvious sharpening effect but a decent result.

Thanks Scott, Wingman...you too Ash. I did indeed have to do some "doctoring" on the sharpness.......I'm going to try to get some better shots of these little ladies, they are so pretty!

One of my all time favorites of a female...all fluffed up on a cold day.

Great shots of the cardinals Rupert. For one whole season a couple of years back we had a female cardinal that used to fly into our kitchen window several times a day. She would perch on a trellis by the window, charge the window, bounce back, again perch on the trellis, and try again...over and over. I wonder what happened to the little lady. Some times one of the male cardinals would come watch her for a while and then fly off. Probably thinking this one is a little crazy, best to move on.

Thank you Jim! Appreciated!

Barry,Thank you!....... interesting story! I have some "window crashes" here quite often. Usually not serious, but a few week back I did have a dove that hit the picture window at Mrs Rupert's desk and it broke his neck. Made me sick, but it is a rare happening.

TPG, Thank you! Isn't SR a great feature, and free with every lens!

Susan, Thank you too.....and I do love the second one myself! Lovely little lady!

GOod shots Rupert, glad to see I'm not the only one who shoots through the kitchen window. Mind you , when the weather gets warmer so I can open it, it'll be better,
