The Planes of Fame in Chino. They have a monthly seminar about a particular plane or genre of planes. This one was about the Wildcat fighter from WWII.

Just looking...this General Motors-built FM-2 version of the Wildcat is immaculately restored to original stock condition.

This is the owner/pilot.

Props do not move out of the way.

Inspecting an AN-2 Colt.

Lunch.

Still working on the Bell X-2.

It has been a while since we visited there in Chino, but we went to their sister affiliate near Williams AZ last year, they have a very nice complement of famous prop plane fighters. thanks for the tour. Bob

another venue on my wish list to visit..... our 'greatest generation' is dwindling at an alarming rate, it's a treat and privilege to hear/see them discussing history they took part in... invaluable... thanks for the post, dave m

Great images of people absolutely enjoying themselves - I love to visit places like this.

About three weeks ago, an old family friend and a member of the greatest generation died at '86; he was an Army Air Force pilot in WWII and continued to fly actively all of his life. When we first got the news, we had few details and assumed he had succumbed to old age. When one of his sons (and a childhood best friend of mine) called to give us the news personally, we learned he had died in a small plane crash near Paso Robles, CA. At least he was doing what he loved.
