Simplicity
Posted By: JMR, 03-09-2011, 08:53 PM

A short series of snow scenes meant to show the beauty that can be created by snow, light and shadow. I have gathered a number over the last three years and placed them in a slide show called "The simplicity of Snow" If interested the show can be viewed Impressions and landscapes | SmugMug

Hope you enjoy the images or the show.

Also the wonder, the texture, the beauty and the softness of snow in image form.
THanks for exemplifying these scenes for us JMR.

JMR, great to see you posting again. For me its the first one. Maybe because the snow has a brightness to it over the rest. JIM

Nice shots, no doubt about that....but....I view snow as a tolerated evil, and I have a very low tolerance. I don't mind viewing it as long as I have on a jacket, but I have no desire for a living experience. I admire your view of snow......I wish I shared it!
When I look out my office window and see snow, which is maybe two days a year, I always wish I was looking out at this instead.

Wonderful textures and light John. The music on the slide show went well with the photos also. Beautiful scenes. Thanks for sharing them.

Thank you everyone for the comments, Bob, Ash, Rupert, Jimbo and Susan. Rupert , there are many days where I do not like winter or snow. But the same is true for sunny or rainy days.

Susan, many thanks for the comments on the slide show. The hardest part was choosing the music followed by the choreography. I plan to show it at the camera club on audio-visual night.

Jim, I do always have a lot of new material, but I contribute when I can. I very much appreciate your comments.

JMR, you have captured the ephemeral in nature. Just so beautiful and artful. I also love the snow and enjoyed these very very much.

It's great to see your stuff again, JMR - it's always a pleasure. Of 5 shots here, I'm particularly taken with the second and last one - but I can't tell you why.

Nice job.
