Great shot. This is really just so crisp and clear in the centre. an interesting fly too with his designer wings and yellow jacket body. Really nice.

another unusual bug from Perth, never seen one of these in the US, she sure has some legs on her, thanks EM for the view. Bob

Great shot. Did you use a tri-pod or hand held? I just purchased a Sigma 50mm Macro and am lovin it. Thanks for posting.

I always shoot hand held, with insects by the time you set up a tripod they'll have flown away. I also have the sigma 50mm F2.8 Macro and it's a very sharp lens, you just have to get that bit closer to the subject.

Thanks Scott, the other thing I liked was the contrasting colours that made the Crane Fly stand out against the leaf.
