mrs. Axl - week 30
Camera: K-7 ISO: 100
Posted By: axl, 03-13-2011, 11:29 AM

Hi all,

so today we decided to make our own pregnancy shoot. I did try it before, but this was first one with K-7 and 3 flashes. Admittedly, I'm no strobist, nor studio photog but I did try....

Any C&Cs are more than welcome.

Regards....

A good series Peter - I think the first one has a few shadows that are somewhat distracting however I am the least quailifed person to suggest that was not part of the effect - pure subjective judging - the rest I like and congrats btw.

great photo with the baby shoes, will you be shooting in the delivery room? That could be dangerous for you, thanks for sharing a special time in life. Bob

thanks for comments.
Bob, shooting in delivery room?
Well, don't think so... until recently I have struggled with the idea of being in the delivery. I'm not too good with blood and pain and stuff like that.... But I'll be there, but I think I'll leave the shooting for after the delivery time

I'm with you, that is why they have waiting rooms. As far as the dangerous comment, I know what my wife would of done with a camera if I had brought one in there. good luck Bob

Congratulations.

The photo with her hands on her belly in the shape of a heart gets my vote, very artistic, great lighting, very nice in my humble opinion.
As far as c&c, i think photos 1 and 7 could benefit from a more balanced lighting, from head to toe.
The shadow between your wifes cheek and eye in photo#7 isn't very flattering.
Having said that, i understand it's easy to sit here and critique, but it's not so easy to get three flashes and a camera working together for that perfect shot.
I'm sure you have an idea of what you can do to make your photos better next shoot.
You did real good and will only get better.

Thanks gusy, appreciate your kind words. As for light in 1 and 7 I know there is a room for improvement. Maybe next time...
