Eerie Quiet
Lens: EBC Fujinon 55/1.8 (M42) Camera: Pentax K20D Photo Location: Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NYC ISO: 1000 Shutter Speed: 1/4s

Late one night in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. I originally shot this for the Urbanities series, but I think it will work well for The Quiet Earth too.

This handheld shot looks pretty good for 1/4s, I think. Pentax shake reduction hard at work here

Looking back at the few images I processed from this Fujinon lens makes me think I should really use it more. The way it renders out-of-focus areas and bokeh is really pleasant to my eye. I guess in the end it was worth sawing a piece of it off to make it fit my DSLR.

Great shot. Love the framing and the bokeh. Can't believe you managed this one handheld even with SR. Well done.

I guess I am lucky to have pretty steady hands. On my Pentax 645, I often get away with handheld 1/20 and 1/30 sec. shots with a lens that's only supposed to be good for 1/75 and over. But really I'm just too lazy to get disciplined about using a tripod yet
