The moon

I'd thought I'd start my own thread.
I'm currently trying to get a good shot of the moon, just the moon. As sharp as I can. This one I captured tonight and I'm rather pleased with it. What do you think?

I've done a number of images of the moon with my 70-300, and I've gotta say, you definitely got a better copy. Nice picture, congrats. Don't sell that lens, or listen to what others might say about it, It's shooting over it's reputation and I'd bet 90% of it's brother/sister lenses of the same Sigma length.

very nice shot Anna, I think the air is cleaner in Sweden so that helps with the clarity, or is it that you are closer, lol. Welcome to the forum, looking forward to more photos of yours. Bob

That does look very good for an image cropped from 300mm. ISO 200 at 1/1500? This was with a certain amount of sunlight present as well or those numbers are misleading?
I took a few shots at the Moon last night as well. My area may have cloudy skies for the upcoming Moon event on the 19th. The Moon will be in a particularly shallow orbit around Earth and in it's full stage. High tides or sea swells from an event like this would certainly be another crippling blow to Japan.

Thank you, both! I'm so glad you liked it!
Normhead, no this telezoom isn't going anywere! I really love it!
I made some tweaks in Ps, I used 'Apply image' twice, one with 'background' and one 'lighter'. Then I used 'Levels' and a little bit of contrast. It's so amaizing to be able to take photos of the moon in the middle of the day!
Bob, perhaps I am closer... Thanks for your kind words!

Yes, it is taken during the afternoon in the sunlight and right outside my door. So, no... no missleading numbers, promis!
That is really good information! Well, for me anyway... Japan doesn't need more now...
I hope we get clear skies were I live too.
