Autumnal ramblings [5 imgs 1 large]
Posted By: dave kitson, 10-23-2007, 10:55 AM

I've been rambling (it's an age thing).

If experience can be defined as "the sum of all your mistakes", then I have gained a lot of experience producing the panorama. I will go back and have another go at it.

Early morning, K10D, DA*16-50mm

He's using a 2hr exposure. K10D, DA*16-50mm

Quiet corner. K10D, DA*16-50mm

Snowdon Horseshoe. K10D, FA 35mm f2

Dinorwic Quarry. K10D, FA35mm F2

I think No 4 is the winner, but I like the first three as well. Your composition is spot-on in each case - interesting without being edgy. The only problem with the panorama is that it is waaaaaaay to wide to look at, and makes this whole thread enormously wide. I first thought the last picture was just a bit of scree, and it was only when I went hunting for the "quick reply" button that I discovered the rest of the image!! Well executed, as far as I can see...!

Great series. The lens looks like it's a winner. The 3rd shot is perfect in all ways.
Love all the various shades of green, still water and splash of red to finish it off.
That one needs a frame. The other excellent shot is the time exposure.
Nice capture to get a painter at work with the scene he's working on.

The rock quarry is the pano you made or just a very large image posted?
If it's a pano it's very good and looks to be seamless and well exposed.
Just too large to easily view.

It is a pano constructed from 4 images with Autostitch.

I really screwed up the lighting by choosing the wrong time of day. The sun was in the righthand shot and although I replaced the sky there was a lot of flare(still is some).

A more viewable image:
