Mesquite Blossoms

The mesquite tree and bush is common in many parts of the s/w in the US. The wood is very hard, burns slow and hot and adds that distinct taste to the BBQ. This is a very drought tolerant tree that produces beautiful blossoms during the spring.

Beautiful vibrant colours Bob. Those of us who have never seen this tree may have wondered what it actually looked like - now I know and it's lovely ! Thanks for posting !

Thanks for sharing Bob. While I have heard of (and used) mesquite, I never knew what the tree looked like. Not alot of them growing up this way. I wonder if it was the 4 new inches of snow we got Wednesday (preceeded by about an inch of freezing rain/sleet before it got cold enough to switch over) that "scares" them away!

Beautiful shots, great colour. It is not unlike our Australian Wattle, our National tree.

the average rainfall in the Sonora Desert is about 3 inches, with the rainfall you get, the trees would drown. Bob
