Cherry Blossoms/Washington DC
Lens: Bigma/DA*16-50 Camera: K-7/K20D Photo Location: Washington DC Tidal Basin
Posted By: mel, 03-27-2011, 11:01 AM

Went to see the Cherry Blossoms yesterday. They were not quite at peak (looks like a couple more days to go) but it was a beautiful sunny day with no haze (then this morning we had snow, happy March). But I though I'd share a few. I took many using the Bigma as I'm still trying to feel my way around that lens and usually just haul it along attached to my K-7 for random general shooting.

Enjoy.

Nice shots Mel... I particularly like the 4th one with the Jefferson Memorial in the background.

Lovely series Mel. The fourth one is nice but my favorite is the last one. I like the curve of the sidewalk and the dark, almost black, tree trunks.

Beautiful series Mel.

It's nice to see other parts of the world don't still have snow.

Thanks! It's a beautiful time to visit if you can stand the crowds and the fickle weather.

Thanks Susan. I was shooting into the sun on that one.

Thanks Tom, but um, I woke up to snow this morning. It's gone now but "they" say there may be more tomorrow morning.
