Popcorn!!
Posted By: Mr Hyde, 10-25-2007, 06:41 PM

Here is a shot of some unpopped popcorn. This was taken with a Tamron SP 90mm adaptall lens. My question is which is better, the full size image or the crop? Or do you think something in between would be best?

Technically they are both good shots and that is a nice lens.

However, the subject is pretty boring. It could use something to break up the monotony. I would use a single popped kernel perhaps, as an accent and focal point. Or even a cold pat of butter.

Funny you should mention the single popped kernel, I was thinking exactly the same thing.

I do like the first one though, there is a certain monotony, well, no I should say anonyminity with all the kernels looking the same there.

The first one tells you what the subject is whereas the second leaves you guessing (i.e. could be bulbs).

Thanks for the suggestions. Here is my version of what you suggested. Is this one any better?

Is that a 100% crop?
It looks like this lens produces prety sharp pics.

Yes, the crop in the first post is 100% crop.
