Green Heron hunting
Lens: FA*300 F2.8. TC1.5 Camera: K-5 Photo Location: So.Cal ISO: 400

Nice series. Knowing what a greenie looks like at 300mm, you must have been close enough to grab it by the neck and keep it form flying until you had the shot you wanted. I'm sure you were hoping it was going to pull out some interesting little critter for dinner.

that is a very nice lens, great shots and at what distance were you and wondering if this is from the wetlands near Huntington Beach, thanks Bob.

Thank you Bob.
I was about 30' away from him but he was aware of my presence and the camera. He kept moving and I followed him behind bushes and managed to take some shots of him.
These were taken at Sea and Sage Audubon in Irvine water district.

I had the TC on o that is about 450mm just enough to keep me a safe distance.
