Soldier on!
Lens: Tamron Adaptall 2 80-210 F3.8-4 CF TELE MACRO (58) Camera: K1000 Photo Location: Texas Tech Student Union Building - Lubbock, TX ISO: 400

One of my students told me about a game night that his club was having, so I stopped by. I had my K1000 loaded with some T-Max 400 when these little soldier game pieces caught my eye (I have no idea which board game this is). I thought this one turned out pretty well. What do you think? Constructive critique/criticism is welcome!

Honestly, I don't get it. The shallow DOF leaves the eye looking for a focal point and there really isn't a sharply focused area in the picture. IMO the b/w doesn't really help either.

I'm just sayin...

It was kind of a bit hard to focus in the slightly low light. I thought I could get it without a flash and sometimes things look in focus with a microprism, but then it isn't. I'm still an amateur, though.

What Paul said. Exactly.

More DoF and probably in colour would both help - I'm sure these have colourful costumes.

Agree about the lack of focal point. Keep trying you will get it I'm sure.
