Landscape Volcanic hills

Looking for C&C re composition, PP, boringness of subject matter etc.

Well, it's kind of an interesting hill (to me, but then I'm a geology nut...), but it's not really popping out as the center of attention. Maybe cropping the right 1/3 off and making it more square would help. Also, the trees have a lot of shadows where you've lost all detail and it detracts from the overall picture. And your sky is kinda 'blah' - go back out there and reshoot when you have some nice dramatic clouds to jazz it up

I like the B/W treatment, by the way...

I also like the B&W treatment. The lighting doesn't seem to have been quite right for you so definitely go back and have another go.

Looks to me like it could be a volcanic hill. I like the fact that you included some point of reference in the photo and didn't just isolate the hill. In fact, most volcanic landscape don't appear that way, thanks for defining the scenery for us.
