Lake of Glass
Lens: Sigma 18-50 w/ Fisheye Extension Camera: K10D Photo Location: BWCA
Posted By: ccrookston, 03-30-2011, 12:52 PM

I'm playing around with my fish-eye in this photograph, which was taken just before a group of good friends were heading into the BWCA for a three day trip. The weather started out beautifully, as you can see, but then turned ugly and made the trip one of the more miserable on record. Still glad I went. Time in the Boundary Waters is always appreciated, no matter the weather.

When I first looked through the viewfinder it looked beautiful, but lacking. So I kicked off my shoes and put them in the foreground. I'm curious if you think this was a good idea, or if I should have left them out.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here because I like everything about the picture except for the fisheye effect. I keep wanting to tilt it to the right to keep the lake from emptying. The shoes were a really nice touch.

I can understand not liking the fisheye effect. Not sure I like it myself!

The shoes are indeed a nice touch. Makes me wonder how someone could have stepped into the lake without disturbing the surface.
