Yard Birdies
Lens: Bigma 50-500 Camera: K5 Photo Location: Texas ISO: 1000 Shutter Speed: 1/150s Aperture: F8

Just a couple from this evening. Otis goes to bed early...or over to Sylvia's Place of Pleasure and Billiards....I never know which, so I shoot what is out there. This evening it was some birdies.
Regards!

White-wing Dove

Don't know what this is?

Love the fast focus of the K5 with my Bigma....I'm not missing shots like I used to.

Thanks Bob....love the K5, it is a dream camera, no doubt about it. It lets you push the limits with ease. For a "marginal shooter" like me with limited skills, it really opens up new doors.
Best Regards!

Love these pictures, Rupert. The dove's expression is priceless. The reddish bird is a purple finch, I believe. You are making the K5 appear very appealing and worth the sacrifice to acquire one...

Very nice - that dove is outstanding. You know, I don't think I've ever seen a white dove in the flesh.

Tamia...Thanks! Purple Finch.....he's new around here, hope he stays a while. The K5 is a fine camera, I love every second of using it. It is like no Pentax before it, guaranteed!

Sailor...Thanks! At one point this winter I counted 123 White-Wing doves feeding on my cedar fence. I have been feeding them for several years and they come twice daily. Beautiful birds. Delicious to eat, but of course I would never eat my animals! Even my Possums are safe here.

Best Regards!

Well done Rupert , I am hoping it's a few weeks before I give a K5 a workout.

Spectacular dove Rupert. The purple finch seems to be losing out to the house finch in our area as we rarely see them anymore. Nice to see one as beautiful as this one.

Great shots Rupert. Let me know if you need me to borrow that K-5 of yours.
