Thanks all. It was a great day capturing all the birds as they were milling around during low tide. I will post more later.

Fine series. My fav shooting is Egrets with a school of fish. Your 3rd shot has really sweet lighting for the bird (cloudy day I presume).

Frogfish - I can't tell if your question is real or just pointing out the obvious but in case its real....I have many shots of Egrets working the fish to swallow headfirst. When its speared like that, they gently work it to the tip of the beak until they can hold it with the tip. Then they work it back to the gullet, sometimes with a little toss in the air to change grip. Never seen a fish dropped in hundreds of occurances.

Thanks Imtheguy ... it was said half in jest half as a query. So appreciate your answer, I learned something new today !

Thanks Jim and Lee. Lee, I appreciate your explaining how the fish gets turned so it is easy to swallow. My husband and I watched one bird with a fish so large that two hours later you could still see it in his throat. Weird.

WOW! Susan, that's a terrific series. It's fascinating, and in that first one you can see the fish being stabbed. Amazing!

The white on the last shot is so beautiful, and the clarity of the fish amazing too. The diving shot and the last shot are very very nice ... well they all are, but those two stand out I think the first for its unique perspective and the last for the composition, the background works so well, and as I said, the whites are so gorgeous and soft looking I can almost feel the feathers.
