Nice shots! I learned that in addition to the sugar water feeders it's a good idea also to provide a source of food that they hunt with the energy they get from the sugar water.

I hang a cup with half a banana, peel and all near each feeder.

After a day or two a colony of fruit flies will develop which the hummers will appreciate.

Here in So Cal I don't get the congregations of hummers that you in the migratory paths get, I usually have just one or two at a feeder at a time.

You guys might need a bucket of bananas to feed all the hummers you get out there

thank you for responding and I have never read or thought about that before and I think it is an excellent idea because they eat so many insects. We will try it not only the next time in Colorado, but we are headed to Tombstone Arizona in the morning and will experiment there. Thanks for the idea and viewing. Bob
