Metallic Details
Lens: DA 35 Limited Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Lake Jackson, TX ISO: 200

Well, since it showed up Monday, I've put my K-5 through a number of paces - an atomic shadow, an atomic cannon, a knot hole, colorful flowers, a red bird, some low light, high iso stuff and now - finally - some B&W conversions of the edgey, prickly things I enjoy shooting perhaps most of all.

Now it's time to rest and go sailing.

Thanks much, Bob. I think I enjoy B&W as much as anything - dates back to the days of Tri-X and my (comparative) youth.

Jer, I would like to ask: these b&w pictures youve done without any PP software? I mean, they went out b&w from te camera?

Looks like you're getting a lot of good use from the K5. And speaking of Tri-x do you remember the slow 25 ASA Panatomic X?--charliezap

Nice series Jer. Love these detail shots. The B&W suites them to a tee.

Actually, I shoot RAW files, which I convert to TIFF or JPEG - I then apply the B&W effect in a 3- or 4-year-old version of PSP. I'm sure there are better ways, but this one is pretty simple - even simple enough for me to do it.

Hey Capn - I do indeed remember Pan-X and the "100-speed" Plus-X, as well. I shot those occasionally, but typically employed the versatile Tri-X.

Thanks, Susan, for the kind words.
