Because of this last shot, we're now seriously looking into a longer reaching zoom. We need more reach!
All shots with the k10d and the kit lens (18-55mm)

Love the reflections in your first shot - such nice rich colors.

The 50-200 is a good and reasonably priced option to get more reach. Don't know if it would help too much with the elk though - is this near Jewel/Mist?

Good call. It's Jewel/Myst all right. We drove there after having breakfast at the Elderberry Inn on HW 26. Love the hotcakes there.

I've toyed with the idea of getting the 50-200mm zoom but then I wonder if waiting for the 18-250mm Pentax zoom would be a better alternative. I'm just not sure which way to go.
