Well, actually a muddy creek, specifically Varner Creek which runs through part of Brazoria County, including the Varner-Hogg historical site from which these pictures were taken.

That area looks pretty beautiful, despite the muddy creek. Nice to see some green too.

Yeah - based on your pics, it appears spring is not quite to your neck of the woods yet.

It's a convient and pleasant place to go to while away an hour or two.

You know, Dave - I was thinking of Huck and Tom when I shot these.

Hey Capn - I'm betting you've got some beautiful days ahead if MA is the way it was a few decades ago.

Green grass, flowers and running water I almost forgot that there are such things. Yesterday morning we woke up to another 12" of the white stuff, wet and heavy to showel. Nice pictures Jer, I did enjoy them.

Thanks, Heinrich. I hope spring is about to make its appearance in your neck of the woods.

Come on Jer. You're going to have to prove that was in Texas. Sure you didn't sneak across the border into LA?

Susan, I can assure you that this is - indeed - Texas. We live in the coastal plain - more-or-less like LA without the swamps: live oaks with lots of moss, bayous, fishing and offshore oil industries and barrier islands galore. Not the Texas you see in cowboy movies (that's a bit west of here).

And a lovely creek it is. I pass by a couple on my way to work and back every day and I always hope to be stopped in traffic close to the creek to watch the water run. It's peaceful to me...at least as peaceful as driving to/from work can be. I'll even take alternate routes sometimes to see different areas of the streams. I just love the beauty of water and the diverse ways it collects and flows. Thanks for the views, I very much enjoyed them.

Thanks, Barry. I feel the same way as you about the "feel" of moving water, but I couldn't have said it nearly as well.
