Goodbye Mr Kitty......
Lens: DA*50-135 Camera: K20D Photo Location: Texas ISO: 3200 Shutter Speed: 1/8s Aperture: F3.5

After 18+ years of being in our lives every day, Mr Kitty passed away last night. He died on his favorite padded rug in my Workshop, that he always considered as really belonging to him. Despite a murderous streak every so often where he would kill one of my Squirrels, he was a good buddy and joined me in my shop every morning for coffee where he would make his superiority known to me and plan his day as I planned mine.
It is hard to let go, but life and death intertwine, and the great memories will always remain. He was a wonderful Kitty, with a soft and easygoing personality, always trusting of our touch and always giving in return. We loved you Mr Kitty, and will always cherish your memory.

Regards

Did he just recently die, or.. was this in 2008?
I've always found death to be a rather fascinating aspect of life.

John, he died last night. He had been in poor health for some time, and I suspect he had renal failure. Death.....tied to life as much as light to darkness.

Sorry for your loss. As a cat person (vice dog person I was raised to be) I sometimes wonder if the difference in life spans between cat owner and cat is a curse or a blessing. We get to enjoy a number of different animals during our life but have to watch each get sick and die at the end. Oh well, I am sure the first 17.9 years made up for the last 0.1 year. Time for a trip to the SPCA to find one in a cage with your name on it. Pics should follow.

Mr. Kitty looks like one cool cat and the fact that he would go after the squirrels makes him The Hounds kindred spirit. He looks a lot like a friends cat who also recently passed. Kitty gave you 18 years and I'm happy to learn you were willing to return the favor to him. Too many people are not. Condolences to you and Mrs Rupert.

Rupert, I know how you feel but 18 was a good time. Our "whiskey" made it to almost 16.

I'm sorry to hear about Mr. Kitty Rupert. He had a good long life though, we lost our favorite cat just before Christmas so I know how you feel.

Thanks to all for the kind words, Mr Kitty would have appreciated it too. Most of us have lost a little buddy, and we all know the heartache...it's good to have friends to share the bad times as well as the good.
Best Regards
Rupert

I'm sorry to hear of his death. I hope his end was peaceful. As I hope mine will be.

Thank you Susan, Newarts....We found him yesterday morning on his favorite cushioned rug in my shop, all stretched out like cats do, and looking very comfortable. He apparently died doing what cats do best....sleeping. We buried him near the corner of the cedar fence that he loved so much, and spent most evenings on viewing his domain. We will remember, always.....
