Canada Goose on her nest
Lens: DA 55-300 Camera: K20D Photo Location: NW Penna ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/180s Aperture: F5.8

First time posting a pic here - been a couple months now with my new-to-me K20D.
Not the most impressive shot, but my wife saw this Canada Goose on a nest in the middle of a small pond down along a highway while we were going 60mph - good catch on her part!

Very nice, I love watching geese, I think they're beautiful creatures. In fact my first photo outing when I got my K-x involved some geese shots. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to seeing more from you!

You know, its funny....

I find this shot quite unspectacular, but I like the colors the combo gave me on an overcast day in the woods.

I looked at the series I shot of the goose today quite a few times, and mostly forced myself to post one of them here. Now I am so glad I did.

For some reason now that this shot is "live" on the forum, I see so much more I could have done between composition and exposure.

Now I am so glad I put it up here - I've learned a lot from myself!

I agree, I think the overcast day works well for you here especially with the goose's light and dark feathers.
I also agree with you that posting your photos "live" as you say is a great way to critique your own work. Every time I post photos here, I always find all sorts of things I missed before. Maybe one day I'll actually learn from them.

Thanks again for sharing and keep them coming. BTW, I've received some good advice by posting photos in the critique forum as well, may want to give that a try.
