Weld Flare
Lens: DA-L 18-55mm Camera: K-x Photo Location: Milwaukee

I got some pretty sweet lens flare while one of my MSOE Supermileage teammates welded the aluminum chassis. I set up the shot before he began to weld and then once the arc started I closed my eyes and fired off a few shots. This was the best one in terms of focus (although still not that great) and I liked the lens flare. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

How did you keep the torch from overexposing the picture?

That's a good question...since I didn't want to be looking through the viewfiender for this shot (obvious reasons), I just closed my eyes, put it in auto mode with auto-focus and fired away; the results were good with none of the shots overexposed. I am not sure, but I bet someone can give you a more legitimate answer as to why it wasn't overexposed
