Some test shots after my lens back from calibration
Posted By: kengoh, 04-18-2011, 08:54 AM

I've read that some Sigma lens have focussing issue that needs to be calibrated together with the cam.
I'm facing serious back focussing issue with my newly purchased 10-20 F4-5.6 uwa lens. So sent to Sigma service centre for free calibration, at the same time sending the 500mm F4.5 too.

Below are some shots taken with the calibrated Sigma 500mm.
Think there's slight improvement on the sharpness or is it me???

#1 Stork billed Kingfisher under the rain

#2 Olive backed sunbird

#3 Purple Heron

#4 Brown throated sunbird

#5 sorry, not sure the id of this bird. anyone?

Thanks for viewing.

They were great before Ken but I think these might be a little sharper if possible.

Tom G
Thanks Tom, I also think very slight (barely noticeable) improvement in the sharpness.

Superb, excellent, near perfect...what else can I say! Otis still wants to trade a box full of Squirrels for one of those little Kingfishers, he thinks they are the cutest things!
Best Regards!
Thanks pal, I remembered you, you've offered your squirrels last time.

The lens appears to have done a terrific job, but it's the photographer who deserves an A+ on this test. Beautiful job, Ken.

Must have been a stray click. I'm sure someone must have clicked the one star by accident. *averaging that out for ya. *

My sweetie and I were enjoying these last night. That's some colorful birdies you've got there.
