We get lots of them in the garden, not sure what they eat or do but they seem to survive okay. Thanks for the comment.

Great shot. I wondered what they were called. They're about 1/4" long and *fast*.

Yes that's the ones! I see you've got the red variety.

I have some snaps of other colored ones, but they aren't in focus. I had lots of pictures of those critters leaving the frame (bolted JUST as I pressed the button).

I'm working on adapting a ringlight tube (from a Lester Dine dental unit) to a Pentax TTL unit so I can use HSS, RCS, and balance flash/sunlight; I'm looking forward to trying these fellows again this summer with that rig. I also plan on playing with focus stacking in my macros this year.
