You balanced the exposure well with the flash and got a decent result.
Good one for the family album.

Georgeous little girl as the focal interest. Try cropping out the "frame" and see what you think. The OOF blue object is a bit distracting.

thanks for your feedback guys......i actually quite like the ' frame' but agree the blue bit is distracting....ive attached a version where i have removed it...see what you think

Look at those blue eyes! I can see dad waiting on the porch with a shotgun when this one begins dating. Honestly, I didn't even notice the blurry blue object at first glance until I read the comments. Now that I've seen it, your second post does look better without it.
